Mrs. Kerri Edwards
My name is
Kerri Edwards and I am honored to be your child’s Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. I am going into my 23rd year in education. I was a Special
education teacher and Special Education Process Coordinator before going into
Administration here in the district. I was an Administrative Intern for 2 years,
3 years as an Assistant principal, one of those years here at William Yates. This will be my 7th year at
WYE! On a personal note, I have been
married to my wonderful husband for 22 years and we have 2 awesome kids. Ellyse will be a sophomore at the University of Missouri- MIZ and Evan who turned 13 this summer is 8th grader at DWMS. On any given night you
will find us on a soccer field somewhere in the metro. They are both very active in sports which
keeps us very active as well.
I cannot
wait to meet your child and watch him/her change and grow and learn. Thank you
for the opportunity to be a part of your child's life. My philosophy is open communication. Please contact me whenever you have a
question or concern. I will do the same
for you. Everyone’s input is important as we work together to create a school
where all students can be successful. As a parent or guardian, your interest
and involvement with your child’s education will promote a positive attitude
toward learning and academic achievement. We have several tools to keep you
updated throughout the year including monthly emails, teacher newsletters and
our school website along with twitter.

I eagerly look forward to greeting students and all WYE families again. It
remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Please stop by
