BULLDOG Note 4.24.26

What a wonderful week in Bulldog Nation! We had so much fun coming together for our Team Rally as we celebrated Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw and recognized the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other. We were also thrilled to celebrate our WYE Teacher of the Year, Carla Neely-Kindergarten, at central office today with a breakfast. In honor of Earth Day, our 1st graders showed great leadership by helping clean up around WYE. We also loved celebrating our Prime Time staff with a special treat as a small thank you for all they do to support and care for our Bulldogs. To top it all off, Kindergarten had a blast with their annual Egg Drop today, testing their science skills by creating contraptions to protect their eggs as Kindergarten teachers dropped them from the roof!

·      Last Day of School: The last day of school is Friday, May 22, and it will be an early release day. Our School and Nutritional Services staff will serve sack lunches* before students are dismissed for the day. Bus riders will ride their assigned bus home. Prime Time after-school care will be available for students enrolled in the program. Early School Dismissal – 12:45PM

We are hard at work with the MAP assessment.  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are taking the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP), a test that will assess their proficiency in certain skills specified by the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. The MAP Test is a web-based, computer test that is taken over multiple days in sessions.  Please encourage your child to get plenty of sleep and to have a healthy breakfast. Let your child know you are proud of their efforts to do their best and not to worry, we are so proud of them.
Testing Dates remaining for students:
  • 4th Grade Math and 3rd Grade Math: April 28th, April 29th, April 30th
  • 5th Grade Science: April 30th and May 1st
We will begin testing in the AM starting at 9:25 each day.  During our testing schedule we flip flop our special class time to allow for extended time for all our test takers.   Our 3rd, 4th and 5th will have special classes in the afternoon and K, 1st and 2nd will have special class in the morning.
