IMPORTANT BULLDOG Note 8.19.26

Hello Bulldog Families,
We wanted to make you aware that today, from 12:00–2:45 p.m., our building office will be temporarily closed to phone calls and visitors while our staff participate in important trainings.

During this time, we will not be available to answer the front door or office phones. We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team takes this time for professional learning. Our office will reopen and resume normal availability at 2:45 p.m.

We are also so excited to see everyone tomorrow night for Open House!
  • Kindergarten Open House: 5:00–6:00 p.m.
  • 1st–5th Grade Open House: 6:30–7:30 p.m.

Please anticipate that our parking lot will be very busy during both timeframes, so we encourage families to plan accordingly and allow a little extra time for parking.

As we prepare for the start of the school year, please know that we are still actively enrolling and verifying students, which means class placements may continue to be adjusted as our enrollment numbers change. If a change is made to your child’s classroom placement, we will contact you directly to let you know.

A great deal of time and care has gone into creating balanced classrooms. Our teams have worked closely with students’ previous teachers and considered many factors, including:
  • Teacher strengths and instructional style
  • Classroom atmosphere and student needs
  • Academic achievement
  • Social and behavioral needs
  • Balance of boys and girls
  • Overall class size and student ratios
Our goal is to create well balance classrooms where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We also want to share that we will not be accepting parent requests for classroom changes at this time. Families were provided an opportunity to submit parent input at the end of last year on May 6th, 2026, and that information was considered as part of our placement process.

While we understand that families may have preferences, maintaining balanced classrooms across the building requires us to consider the needs of all students and classrooms as a whole.

Thank you for trusting our staff and the thoughtful process we use when placing students.

We can’t wait to welcome our Bulldog families back into WYE and kick off another great school year together!
Kerri
